Lewis Hamilton just about squeezed a thrilling victory in Bahrain after incredible pressure from team mate and pole sitter Nico Rosberg. Hamilton just got the jump at the start but great defensive driving saw him make the chequered flag first. A slipt strategy at Mercedes may have seen the two cars further apart but a safety car put pay to that. The safety car was bought out for an incident involving Esterban Gutierrez and Pastor Maldobado which saw the Mexican's car flip at turn 1. The Lotus driver will be garnenteed to gain penalty points if not a race ban for the stupid move. For Force India's Sergio Perez he scored his first podium sconce Italy 2012 and Force India's second ever. It was a great race from the whole of the field with overtakes, incidents and excitement! Ferrari had another disappointing race as they could only get 9th and 10th showing their poor start to the season. Daniel Ricciardo recovered from his 10 place grid penalty to score a 4th place and his first points of 2014. Williams suffered a disappointing race as the safety car ruined a potential podium. It was also a good recovery drive for the world champion Sebastian Vettel got a very solid 6th. The two McLarens had gearbox issues cause them both to retire. Which caused a disappointing end for Jenson Button's 250th GP. But for F1's 900th GP it was certainly one of its very best. Hamilton took his 24th F1 victory, while the two Nico's will ponder why they're behind there team mates.
